- ➤ Putnam County Habitat for Humanity will dedicate its 17th home at 133 West Fourth Street, Ottawa, on Monday, Dec. 15. The open house from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. will offer tours that showcase the fine craftsmanship by local volunteers & industry while noting limited street parking. WFIN
- ➤ Scarlett Emmons, a 9-year-old local hero, saved her grandmother’s life when she noticed unresponsiveness during a sleepover and quickly called her mom who then dialed 911 (her grandmother is now receiving care at the hospital). WFIN
- ➤ Findlay YMCA has launched its first toy drive to collect new or gently used, unwrapped toys until Friday, Dec. 12 + it plans to give toys away on Dec. 19 at the Downtown Branch’s West Pool Lounge from 9-11 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. for adults only. WFIN

- ➤ Sheetz announced that progress continues on its $169 million distribution facility in Findlay, which is on schedule to open in fall 2026. The project will support food preparation and distribution while creating immediate Department Manager positions as part of over 700+ jobs expected in the next five years. WFIN

- ➤ The Hancock Historical Museum is hosting the Historic Homes Tour: Holiday Edition this weekend. This event includes a Yuletide Preview (Saturday, Dec. 13, 6–10 p.m.) and a public tour (Sunday, Dec. 14, 11 a.m.–4 p.m.) of six decorated historic homes. WFIN

- ➤ Findlay City Schools show choirs Findlay First Edition and Voices in Perfection are touring elementary and middle schools this holiday season, performing lively music and energizing students (to imagine future participation). WFIN
- ➤ Senior Health Science students at Apollo Career Center practiced phlebotomy on Tuesday in Shawnee Twp when they worked on friends + family volunteers ahead of graduation, gaining vital skills for immediate work in a growing health care field. Hometown Stations
- ➤ United Way of Hancock County invites graduating seniors with a 3.5 GPA to apply for the Secor Scholarship offering up to $8,000 toward college tuition; applications must be submitted online by midnight on Jan. 19 and selections will be made in March. WFIN
