🚨 Crime
On July 4th, police responded to a shooting at the Rodeway Inn at 1901 Broad Avenue where a man was struck in both legs—with initial reports hinting at a female shooter but later evidence suggesting an accidental self-inflicted discharge—and he was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital (injuries were non-life threatening) while a vehicle (believed to hold the firearm used) was seized as evidence.

The Ohio Division of Wildlife confirmed 964 active bald eagle nests in 87 of the 88 counties, with only Meigs County missing a nest — Ottawa leads with 112 nests.
The report was posted on social media ahead of the Fourth of July holiday to mark a conservation success.
